Fliki - Lightweight Open Source Wiki

About Fliki

Fliki is a super-lightweight Wiki. It's simple to install and use, so is a fast way to create websites. It scales to hundreds of pages, so it'll keep up with you as your site grows.

Fliki displays web pages that you have designed. If you've logged into Fliki you can edit them too. Since Fliki is a Wiki, pages are made using WikiSyntax. WikiSyntax is a sort of 'code' that makes pages look a certain way. At it's simplest level, Fliki automatically puts links between pages - that makes it really easy to have navigation between related pages. Other handy page features can be inserted by putting in these special 'codes' in the text of your page. It may sound a little complicated, but it's quite easy once you get the hang of it.

Additionally, Fliki has other administrative functions that can be used if you're logged in. It's possible to edit the template that Fliki uses to build pages. That means you can 'brand' your site any way you like, and Fliki will make those changes to all pages automatically. There's also a File Manager, which means you can upload files to your web server using your browser (great for getting images, CSS files, PDFs or any other file types onto your site).

Technology

Fliki is a PHP application. That means it'll run on almost any web server, and most web hosting services. It's a tiny download and very easy to install.

Fliki's Open Source ( GPLv2 licensed ). That means that you can make any changes you like to the program, perhaps adding features you want or making it work in new ways. All that means you get loads of flexibility - for free!
