Linux Boot and Installation Disk

The Pre-Emptive Linux Installation disk is a base from which Linux based system boot disks and installers. Essentially, it boots a minimal Linux installation in a ram disk. It then mounts the CDROM, extracts a tar file to retrieve a "bootstrap" program, which it runs. When the bootstrap program is finished, the CDROM is uninstalled and the disk is ejected.
The idea is that with minimal effort, Linux boot and install disks can be created. The required programs need to be placed into a file archive and burned onto the CDROM. The installer will then use it, with no need for editing of the actual boot image (which is a little more involved).
